Victorian era 18K gold rose cut diamond ring
For sale a beautiful Victorian-era 18K gold ring. At its heart lies a lovely rose-cut diamond, weighing approximately 0.45 carats, prong-set with an open back to allow light to enhance its natural glow. Flanking the central gem are three smaller rose-cut diamonds on each shoulder, adding a graceful sparkle and balanced symmetry.
Each diamond is first set in 18K white gold and then mounted onto a warm 18K yellow gold band.
A Brief History of Rose Cut Diamonds:
The rose cut dates back to the 16th century and became particularly popular during the Georgian and Victorian eras. Unlike the more modern brilliant cuts, rose-cut diamonds have a flat base and a domed crown with triangular facets, resembling the shape of a rosebud. Their soft, romantic shimmer captures candlelight beautifully, making them highly prized in antique jewelry.
