Antique 18K gold labradorite moon face diamond crescent brooch
This enchanting French antique, 19th century brooch is crafted in rich 18k yellow gold. At its heart rests a carved moon face in bluish labradorite, the surface alive with shifting flashes of silver and midnight blue.
Encircling the face is a delicate crescent set with 17 rose cut diamonds. Along the bar, six diamond stars shimmer in gentle constellation, placed to complete the celestial reverie.
In the 19th century, the heavens captured imaginations as never before. Scientific discovery was flinging open doors to the cosmos, and the night sky transformed from distant poetry into a realm to be charted, studied, and wondered at anew. This brooch reflects that Victorian fascination, where romance and reason intertwined, and the mysteries of the universe could be worn close to the heart.
A rare jewel from a bygone era, it is both ornament and orbit, a reminder that curiosity has always been one of humanity’s brightest stars.
