For sale an antique French 18K (French horsehead hallmark) Perpignan garnet cluster ring. At the heart of this ring is a rare garnet in rectangular shape, measuring an impressive 10mm* 6.5mm. Surrounded by smaller garnets in a radiant cluster design, it creates an eye-catching scale, offering a "bigger than real" visual impact. The garnets are foiled-back and bezel-set, allowing them to showcase their signature pinkish-red hue - characteristic of Perpignan garnets.
Perpignan garnets, originating from the French region of Languedoc-Roussillon, were highly prized during the 18th and 19th centuries for their vivid coloration and exceptional quality. Their mining closed since long time, these captivating gems are highly sought after by collectors today.

Measurements and condition
In overall good antique condition with traces of use, scratches, small chips and abrasions on the garnets' facets. Two of the garnets on the border of the ring maybe later replacements.
The garnets show slight different (stronger/lighter) pinkish hue due to the foils on the backs.
