For sale a sweet French antique 18K gold Perpignan garnet ring dated back to the 19th century, the Victorian era. Adorned with rose-cut garnets, each stone is foiled back and bezel set. The garnets showcase their signature pinkish-red glow characteristic, with the central gem measuring approximately 6mm in diameter, beautifully anchoring this floral-inspired design.
Perpignan garnets, originating from the French region of Languedoc-Roussillon, were highly prized during the 18th and 19th centuries for their vivid coloration and exceptional quality. Their mining closed since long time, these captivating gems are highly sought after by collectors today.

Measurements and condition
In overall good antique condition with traces of use, scratches and abrasions on the garnets. One of the garnets on the border of the ring maybe a later replacement.
The garnets show slight different (stronger/lighter) pinkish hue due to the foils on the backs.
