About Auguste Gross:
French Maker's Mark A – Coachman's Whip – G for Auguste Gross. Registered from January 28, 1860 (with several subsequent changes of company name). The firm specialized in chains and was awarded a Gold Medal at the Paris Universal Exposition of 1889, an Honorary Diploma in Brussels in 1897, and served Hors Concours (outside competition) and as a member of the jury at the Paris Universal Exposition of 1900.
