Victorian era 18K yellow gold diamond natural pearl bird brooch
A rare 19th-century Victorian bird brooch, likely depicting a dove, entirely set with shimmering old mine cut diamonds. Its delicately sculpted wings are adorned with two oval natural pearls (approximately 5 × 3.8 mm), while a rose cut diamond of approximately 0.8ct sparkles at the center of the body.
The diamonds and pearls are bezel set in silver with open backs. They are backed on 18k yellow gold, as well as the pin.
Symbolizing peace, love, and purity, bird jewelry carries deep meaning, and the rare pairing of antique diamonds and natural pearls gives this piece an especially ethereal, luminous beauty.
