Victorian era 18K gold amethyst brooch earrings set
A rare and exceptional Victorian-era demi parure crafted in 18K gold, comprising a brooch and a matching pair of earrings set with richly colored amethysts. The brooch is striking: the amethysts are meticulously cut into tiny scale-like elements and mounted in a softly domed formation, creating a beautiful sense of rounded relief and depth. Delicate tassels are suspended from the brooch, lending movement and an unexpectedly light, transparent appearance to the design. The technical challenge of mounting so many individually cut amethyst pieces is extraordinary—an incredibly time-consuming process demanding a level of precision and patience rarely seen today.
The earrings echo the same remarkable craftsmanship, featuring floral-shaped heads adorned with the same facetted amethysts, finished with tassel drops that sway gently with movement. They have the front to back system for pierced earrs.
We simply feel very fortunate to present such a rare and beautifully executed set.
