Victorian 18K gold turquoise diamond ring
For sale a beautiful 19th century ring made in 18K yellow gold, featuring a ring head made of a greenish blue turquoise cabochon surrounded by rose cut diamonds.
We love the smoothly rounded dome shape of the turquoise, which set off turquoise’s color and texture beautifully. It has a size of 9mm*6.5mm. The turquoise’s beauty is further enhanced by 12 sparkling diamonds totaling an estimated weight of approximately 0.25ct. The diamonds are first bezel set on silver and then on gold. The turquoise is prong set. The ring is stamped with the French owl hallmark for 18K gold on the shank.
The legend and history of turquoise span millennia, intertwining with diverse cultures and civilizations across the globe. The Egyptians adorned their pharaohs with turquoise jewelry, believing it to provide protection in the afterlife. In Persia, turquoise was esteemed as a symbol of purity and prosperity, adorning royal regalia and architectural marvels. Among Native American tribes, turquoise held profound spiritual significance, believed to bring good fortune and safeguard against harm.
