Antique 18K gold diamond foliage pendant brooch
A sparkling bouquet of the foliage made in rose cut diamonds has arrived just in time to embrace the beautiful autumn! This brooch takes inspiration from the botanical garden and captivates the beauty of the fresh bouquet with its large rosette scrolls.
The brooch is dated back to the mid 19th century (Victorian era), where the diamond jewels were always set in two metals, gold and silver; Gold at the back which would not mark the skin or the clothing and silver at the front to accentuate the brilliant whiteness.
There are in total 38 rose cut diamonds, the 4 more important ones in the central weights from circa 0.1cts to 0.25cts. The brooch has two hoops on its top, allowing you to attach it on a chain/ribbon and wear it as a pendant as well.
With the light touch of the scrolls, this brooch / pendant reminds us of the beauty and frailty of the nature captured in one refined piece of jewelry.
Measurements and Condition
In overall very good antique condition, with slight trace of use/oxidation on the back of the brooch.
Several hallmarks on the pin of the brooch; it is also been acid tested for 18K gold.
