We love this very rare French antique two-colored agate locket not only for its beauty but also for its symbolism: stars are considered as a symbol of guidance and wisdom in the jewelry from the Victorian era; and star designs also symbolized the direction wearers would need in their life.
This beautiful locket features 9 stars engraved on the agate panel. The skillful engraving allows the pendant to show different colors: a blueish grey color intersecting with the black color. The back of the locket is also decorated with the agate panel. This is truly a unique “one-of-a-kind” design reflecting a high level of craftsmanship and reminding us of the value of the piece. It also symbolises a bygone era when jewelry was handmade with the utmost attention to detail. The locket is mounted in 18k yellow gold and it is dated back to the mid 19th century, the Victorian era.
