Curiously timeless
Striking & Sparkling French 18K bicolor gold daisy flower diamond ring
The fascination with diamonds isn’t a modern phenomenon. The history of diamonds is entwined with the history of the world. Pliny, a Roman naturalist in the first century ad, described diamond as “...the most valuable, not only of precious stones, but of all the things in this world.”
What we love about diamonds is also that every diamond is unique and each one has its own characteristics. In front of us a cluster of these unique sparkling diamonds formed a beautiful daisy flower. The central diamond, is worked in brilliant cut and its weight is estimated at 0.2ct. It is surrounded by a circle of old mine cut diamonds; all together, they represent the heart of the daisy flower. On a third layer, another 16 old mine cut diamonds illustrate wonderfully the petals of the daisy flower. The head of the ring conveys a significant size of 20mm*20mm and it is mounted in 18K white gold. The shank of the ring is mounted in 18K yellow gold.
Daisies symbolize innocence and purity. In Old English, daisies were referred to as “day’s eye” because at night the petals close over the yellow center and during the day they re-open. The phrase “as fresh as a daisy” originated from this.
