Rare Antique 18K Gold “Today More Than Yesterday, Less Than Tomorrow” Love Medal Pendant

This exceptional piece expresses one of the most heartfelt declarations: “Today I love you more than I did yesterday and less than I will tomorrow” (Aujourd'hui + qu’hier – que demain).

On the front, the iconic "+/-" symbols, representing the verse, are adorned with 10 vivid, calibrated pinkish-red rubies, a gemstone long associated with passion and love. The reverse is encircled by an intricate frame of engraved rose motifs, symbolizing enduring affection. The center remains unengraved, allowing for personalized inscriptions, making this token even more meaningful for its next caretaker. 

This is the rarest and oldest version of this love token we’ve found, dated from the end of the 19th century/beginning of the 20th century. It is a treasured heirloom from a time when romantic jewelry carried deep personal significance.
