Museum quality stunning French Antique 18K gold micro mosaic dove ring

€0

Micro mosaics are created from tiny fragments of tesserae, generally made from glass or enamel, set to form small pictures: the size of the tesserae can be as little as the lead in a mechanical pencil (about 1 mm). One common method includes melting glass, pulling it into thin rods or threads and then, after it cools, cutting it into tiny pieces that are then arranged on a copper or gold tray to create a scene, portrait or landscape. The Micro mosaic jewelry was refined and reached its peak in the 1800s.

In front of us a really fine example of the antique micro mosaic ring, featuring a beautiful dove with white feathers on a blue marine background. The scene is decorated with delicate white/blue scroll frame; there are two gentle lily flowers on the two sides of the panel. The work is very clean, detailed and the colors beautifully coordinated together, creating a real feast for the eyes. The ring is being conserved in a very good antique condition without any missing or crack on the mosaic, which is one of the most important elements to valuate a micro mosaic jewelry. The head of the ring is mounted in 18K gold.

To the Victorians, dove was a symbol of enduring love and loyalty. Dove jewelry was offered as a symbol and a commitment of love and friendship. The meaning behind the design makes this ring even more special to our eyes and we believe it will be a unique gift to offer or to receive.

The ring is resizable at buyer’s cost, please contact us before you order.
