Lovely French vintage 18K gold diamond ruby laurel pendant

For sale a beautiful French vintage pendant featuring a laurel leave decorated with a brilliant cut diamond on the top (approximately 0.1ct), and numerous rose cut diamonds on the body. The stem of the leave is enameled in black color, highlighted by 6 purplish red rubies around.

A laurel is a shrub that was traditionally used to weave wreaths and crowns that were symbols of victory in the sporting events of Ancient Greece. Today, laurel is synonymous with achievement, and a laureate is one who an award or achievement is bestowed upon.
