€0

For sale a delightful large diamond arrow jabot pin brooch dated back to the Art Deco era.

This large arrow is decorated with 31 rose cut diamonds. They are all open backed and bezel set for a total estimated weight of approximately 1.5cts. The brooch is mounted in 18K yellow and white gold and it has the double French owl hallmark both on the pin and on the side of the arrow. Arrows, in many cultures, are associated with love and romance, referring to the arrow of the Cupid. They also symbolize ambition, drive, and the pursuit of success. Arrow jewelry can serve as a motivational reminder to stay focused on one's aspirations and strive for personal growth and accomplishment.

The popularity of jabot pins reached its peak during the Art Deco era, aligning with the fashion trends of the time. Women embraced the geometric shapes, bold lines, and contrasting color schemes, and jabot pins provided a means to incorporate these design elements into their attire.

Mechanically, the jabot pin brooch typically consisted of three main components: the pin, the decorative ornament, and a clasp. The clasp, located at the opposite end of the pin, had a dual function. First, it prevented the jabot pin from slipping out of the fabric. Second, it added another decorative element to the brooch. It is pinned in such a way that only the decorative ends are seen, allowing the fabric to show in between.

Although the Art Deco movement declined in popularity by the 1930s, the jabot pin brooch remains an iconic symbol of the era's fashion and design aesthetic. Today, antique Art Deco jabot pins are highly sought after by collectors and enthusiasts, appreciating their historical significance and exquisite craftsmanship.
