Edwardian era / Belle époque platinum 18K gold diamond blue sapphire necklace

€0

Edwardian era jewelry was characterized by a lightness and delicacy in the design, which is exactly what we love in this beautiful necklace in front of us!

For sale a French Belle époque era diamond and blue sapphire necklace made in 18K gold and platinum.

The pendant has an elegant saw – pierced lattice design with a pear-shaped, faceted sapphire swing in the center, which is typical to the early 20 century, circa 1910s. The sapphire measures 8mm in height and 4.5mm in width. It shows a saturated, deep blue color. The blue sapphire is linked to a round shaped, old-European cut white diamond on the top. The diamond has an estimated weight of approximately 0.35cts.

All the settings of the pendant have the millegrain decoration with numerous rose cut diamonds on them. The use of the platinum (which was an invention from the Edwardian era), with its rigid characteristics, made such delicate yet strong designs possible. Small leaves motifs are used to make the pendant even more delicate.

The bale of the pendant is made in 18K yellow gold. There is one French owl hallmark for 18K gold and one French Mascaron hallmark for platinum on the inner side of this frame.

The pendant comes with a 18K hallmarked white gold chain as shown in the photo.
