Candy bright 18K gold natural Japanese momo coral earrings

€0

If you are looking for some enchanting colors to celebrate the end of this year, these candy-bright beauties made of the top quality natural Japanese Momo color earrings are certain to get you noticed. They are cut in sweet “berlingo” candy form: a famous French hard candy usually made in pyramidal form. Their surface silky and brilliant, their pinkish red color so gentle and beautiful, their form very unusual – all the factors make these earrings on top of our “must-have” jewelry list.

The Momo corals are famous for their gentle and sweet pinkish red color. The Japanese word “Momo” acutally means “Peach” in English. Momo corals can be found in the tropical waters in the north of Taiwan and Japan. It can be identified by having whitish round spots or vein called “soul”. This is a valuable feature as it helps determine the authenticity and provenance of the coral. When the skillful engravers carved the momo coral, they will pay attention to keep the best color on the surface and leave the whitish spots or vein on the back. That is exactly how these earrings have been worked: their natural identity mark can be found on the back of the earrings.

The coral used in these earrings are coming from the old stock of our coral supplier in Japan and recently mounted by our jeweler. World demand for coral jewelry remains high, but a number of factors have combined to drastically reduce the supply of new material in recent decades. These factors include pollution, over-harvesting, and increasing national and international environmental protection efforts. That’s why we feel very grateful to be able to recycle older pieces and given them a new life.

The earrings have the butterfly closure for pierced ears.
