Curiously timeless
Beautiful French Edwardian 18K gold Sapphire Diamond halo daisy flower sleeper earrings
What a lovely and beautiful pair of the French antique sapphire diamond “dormeuse” sleeper earrings! The earrings feature a daisy flower made of a halo-style diamond and blue sapphire on each side and they dated back to the early 20 century, the Edwardian era.
The heart of the daisy flower is made of a sapphire which conveys a charming velvet blue color, surrounded by a wonderful halo of 10 diamonds in old European cut as petals. The flower is then attached to the mounting by another diamond accent on its top. On each side, the central sapphire’s weight is estimated at circa 0.15ct. The total weight of diamonds is estimated at circa 0.7ct. They are mounted first in platinum and then in 18K sold yellow gold.
The sapphire’s attractive blue color has depth and good saturation; while the diamonds add value and sparkle, and their icy brilliance contrasts attractively with sapphire’s rich blue. Very versatile, timeless wearable and valuable, these earrings will make a wonderful gift to offer or to receive!
