Art Nouveau 18K Gold Plique-à-Jour enamel fly Brooch
A refined French Art Nouveau brooch, circa 1900, depicting a playful fly crafted in 18K yellow gold (French eagle’s head hallmarks). Its wings shimmer with plique-à-jour enamel.
The plique-à-jour enamel — a technique that allows light to pass through like stained glass — revealing a mesmerizing play of translucent navy and cerulean hues, delicately traced with gold inlays.
13 transitional-cut diamonds (~0.25ct total) adorn the upper body, while a grayish-blue labradorite forms the luminous abdomen. Two vivid blue sapphires bring sparkle to the eyes, completing the insect’s lifelike charm.
Evoking a serene palette of blues and subtle iridescence, this refined jewel is perfect when worn on a collar, pinned to a tie, or perched playfully on a hat.
