Art Deco 18K gold platinum blue sapphire diamond ring
For sale is one of two curated Art Deco rings from the same distinguished family, crafted by their personal jeweler in the 1930s. These rings were made for two ladies of the family—one featuring calibre rubies, and the other adorned with blue sapphires.
This particular ring showcases horizontally arranged lines of calibre blue sapphires, intersected by diamonds in transitional cut style. The clean geometry of the sapphires creates a chic, streamlined look, while the contrast between the colors lends a stunning vibrancy to the piece. The central biggest diamond has an approximate weight of 0.15ct.
All the gemstones are mounted in platinum and the shanks of the ring in 18K yellow gold. The channel setting of the gemstones requires precision and it is very time consuming, which explains why it is rare to find work of this quality today.
Designed to show an unusual geometric shape, this ring, like its ruby counterpart, offers a unique take on the classic Art Deco motifs. It reflects the era's spirit of freedom and sophistication, making it not only a piece of jewelry but also a significant piece of family history.
The ring is stamped with the French dog head hallmark for platinum and the French eagle’s head hallmark for 18K gold.
These two precious finds are not just beautiful adornments; they are a bridge to a time when jewelry served as a tangible connection between family members. Owning such a piece allows one to hold a piece of history and to rediscover stories that might otherwise remain untold.
The ring is resizable at buyer’s cost, please contact us before you pass your order.
