Victorian 18K Gold diamond lyr Vinaigrette Locket pendant
This exceptional 19th-century vinaigrette locket is a stunning example of Victorian artistry and craftsmanship. Its beautifully shaped lyre design is decorated with an old mine-cut diamond of approximately 0.25 ct on the top, plus numerous rose-cut diamonds on the body. Two natural white pearls crown the top, adding a gentle softness.
The most captivating feature of this locket is its refined gold floral filigree opening, designed to hold a small keepsake or scented material—an intimate touch characteristic of traditional vinaigrettes. The reverse is fitted with a glass window, allowing a photograph or miniature artwork to be displayed, combining both beauty and personal sentiment.
Rare and exquisitely detailed, this locket represents one of the finest examples of its type we have encountered. A truly remarkable piece from a by gone era!
The chain in the photos is not included in the listing.
