Antique French 18K Gold green tourmaline diamond ring
A beautiful French 18K gold ring featuring a cushion-cut green tourmaline of approximately 1.2 carats, framed by a delicate halo of rose-cut diamonds totalling approximately 0.95 carats.
The rich, vibrant green of the tourmaline creates a wonderful contrast with the soft, understated sparkle of the rose-cut diamonds.
Green gemstones have long held a special place in jewellery, their colour evoking the vitality of nature, renewal and prosperity. Tourmaline, in particular, carries its own fascinating folklore. Its name derives from the Sinhalese word turmali, meaning “mixed-coloured stones”, a reference to the extraordinary variety of hues found throughout the tourmaline family. An old Egyptian legend even tells that tourmaline travelled along a rainbow, gathering its many colours along the way. Green tourmaline is traditionally associated with growth, harmony and good fortune.
