An extraordinary discovery: a pair of French antique 18K gold medals dated back to the early 20th century, lovingly crafted by the same family for siblings. Rarely do we find such meaningful sets preserved through time.

In front of us a very pretty French antique signed medal featuring the child Saint Jean-Baptist looking in front of him. There is the engraver’s signature on the face (I.O malleri?) On the back of the medal is engraved his lamb with a cross under the sunshine: A lamb is the common attribute of Saint John the Baptist. The medal is beautifully framed by a circle of natural seed pearls.

Saint John the Baptist is represented with a lamb to symbolise his recognition of Jesus as the Son of God. When John baptised Jesus in the River Jordan he said 'Behold, the Lamb of God'. The lamb is also the symbol of the innocence in the Bible.

These medals not only embody exquisite craftsmanship but also carry the essence of faith, family, and history. A remarkable addition for collectors or a meaningful heirloom or baby shower gift.

The angel medal on the photo is also available in the shop. Some of the photos are zoomed in to show details, please refer to the measurement for real scale.
