Antique 18K gold pendant “To those who know how to love, time becomes rosy”
An early 20th century sentimental pendant crafted in 18K yellow gold, carrying the quiet poetry of a bygone romance. Delicately engraved on its surface is a circular garland of 12 blooming roses, arranged like the hours upon a clock face. They are partially veiled by an intricately pierced and chased gold cover in the form of a rose branch.
At first glance, only part of its tender inscription is visible: “à qui sait aimer” — “to those who know how to love.” The remainder lies concealed beneath the sculptural rose branch. When gently opened, the secret completes itself, revealing: “les heures sont roses” — “the hours become roses,” or poetically, “time turns rosy.”
The message is poetically embedded into the jewel’s architecture: the 12 roses form a floral clock face, making the words “les heures sont roses” both metaphor and material reality. Time itself becomes rose with love.
Exceptionally rare, perfect for anyone who is looking for something truly special.
The chain on the photos is not included in the listing.
