Antique 18K Gold Heart Locket with lily-of-the-valley flowers
An extraordinary and deeply sentimental French antique 19th century locket in solid 18K yellow gold, this remarkable piece opens from a heart into a four-leaf clover, revealing four removable, heart-shaped petals, each preserving an enamelled, photo like, miniature portrait. The portraits can be replaced with your own photographs, allowing this exceptional jewel to continue its personal story.
Beautifully engraved with delicate lily-of-the-valley flowers on both the front and reverse, the locket can be worn on either side. On the backs of the miniature portraits, the signature of Raoul Hideux, a prominent French artist and enamelist active during the late 19th and early 20th centuries, widely celebrated for his high-quality enamel miniatures on copper. His work is highly sought after by collctors, and was sold in auction houses like Sorthby.
Remarkably well preserved, this locket pendant is a truly exceptional museum-quality example of French antique jewellery.
