At its heart lies the celebrated French inscription « Plus qu’hier, moins que demain » — “More than yesterday, less than tomorrow.” The words originate from a poem by Rosemonde Gérard, written for her husband. In 1907, Lyon-based jeweller Alphonse Augis immortalised this verse in a medal that would become one of the most beloved and collectible symbols of enduring love.
Its reverse remains unengraved, offering the possibility of a personal inscription for its next caretaker.
