18K yellow gold diamond red ruby double snake ring

€0

The fact that the snake has wriggled its way into so many jewelry collectors is testament to our enduring fascination with this slippery creature. The snake has been a popular motif in jewelry since ancient Greek and Roman times. For the Celts, the snake represented secret knowledge while, for the Romans, it was seen as a guardian spirit and symbol of eternal life.

For sale a lively French made hefty double snake ring from the early 20th century. The ring features two twisted snakes, one with a diamond on its head, the other one with a red ruby. The diamond is cut in old European style, cushion shape, with an estimated weight of approximately 0.35ct. The ruby has a similar weight with a vivid purplish red color. The ring is hallmarked with the French owl hallmark for 18K gold on the shank.

Although the ring has an impressive coverage, its versatility as well as its timeless appeal make it easily stackable with other rings or jewelry. When we wear this ring, we have the feeling that we’ve empowered by all the energy they convey: Oh, if only we could ask a double dose of their wisdom!
