Georgian era 18K gold granulation half hoop ring
For sale a rare Georgian era 18K gold half hoop ring featuring two lines of closed backed, colored pastes stones separated by gold granulations (little gold dots).
The vivid green color and the pinkish red color contrast beautifully with the warm gold tones, giving the ring a very enchanting appearance. The use of the gold granulation (little gold dots) to decorate the ring was a very popular technique used during the 18th century. The shoulders of the ring also show great details with intricate leaf motif on each side.
The ring is stamped with the French ram head hallmark for 18K gold. It is used between the year 1819-1838.
Rare to find this type of ring still in its original condition with an antique hallmark from that era in very good antique condition, this ring is a wonderful piece to add into your antique ring collection.
This type of ring used to be worn in accumulation as shown in the painting “Madame de Senonne” by Jean-Auguste-Dominique Ingres (1780-1867). The second Georgian era ring on the photo is also available at the below link:

Measurements and Condition
In overall good antique condition. Traces of use, oxidation. Slight scratches on the surfaces of the stones.
The ring is stamped with the French ram head hallmark for 18K gold. It is used between the year 1819-1838
