For sale an exception Georgian era 18K plain gold band ring. At its heart lies a stunning solitaire old mine cut diamond, weighing approximately 0.25 carats. The diamond is elegantly bezel set with an open back, allowing light to enhance its natural brilliance.

The ring features beautifully engraved shoulders adorned with intricate foliage motifs that converge at the flower head setting, where the diamond is prominently displayed. The shoulders are further embellished with delicate gold beads, adding an extra touch of sophistication and refinement to the design. Weighing a substantial 7.6 grams, this ring not only feels luxurious but also serves as a lasting statement piece.

Historically, such rings richly chased with flowers motifs were often chosen as wedding rings since flowers convey sentiments, making this piece not only a beautiful accessory but also a symbol of enduring love and commitment. Similar examples of this type of the ring can be found on the page 104 and 105 of the book “Rings” written by Diana Scarisbrick. The ring is also stamped with the French rooster head hallmark on the shank of the ring (in use between 1809-1819), further confirming the dating of the ring.

This ring's combination of historical significance, intricate design and sentimental values ensures it will be a cherished heirloom, treasured by generations to come.
