Lovely 14k gold Onyx flower and seed pearl mourning ring

€460

Only 1 piece in stock!

A very beautiful and rare Victorian era 14K gold onyx flower and seed peal ring successfully converted from a stick pin. This ring with a shy flower head is particular touching and delicate. It is a great example of the sentimental and memorial jewelry which were particular favored in England throughout the 19th century, where the rituals of mourning were an important part of social and family life. In the strictest period of mourning, only black jewelry was permitted, with some exceptions made for diamonds and pearls. Its flower motif also conveys more hope than sadness, making this piece very unique and beautiful.

The ring can be resized at additional cost, please contact me if needed.
