French Antique Child Louis XVI miniature portrait silver brooch

For sale a rare French antique miniature portrait brooch in silver, featuring a child wearing a pastel blue blouse with a refined silky white collar. The portrait is beautifully circled in a chiseled silver frame and backed with a mother-of-pearl. Through his beautiful eyes, we can feel his focused and sturdy look. All the details make the piece very touching.

After searching more in different books, we believe that the child is the portrait of Louis XVI when he was young (Please see the last picture). Louis XVI was the last King of France before the fall of the monarchy during the French Revolution.

The brooch closes and opens well, despite of its age.

Slight trace of use at the back of the brooch; Silver patina.

Trace of hallmark on the C-catch of the brooch.
