Victorian era Egyptian Revival 18K gold scarab dangle earrings

€0

For sale an exquisite pair of Egyptian Revival scarab earrings, a rare and stunning find dating back to the 1880s. The enthusiasm for ancient egyptian designs in the 19th Century is largely attributed to Napoleon's conquest of Egypt so the themes and motifs such as scarabs, pyramids, sphinxes were becoming very popular in the decorative art again.

These earrings feature two real scarab beetles, each displaying a captivating iridescent green color that contrasts beautifully with the warm gold tones. The earrings have the French eagle’s hallmark for 18K gold and a maker’s mark on each side.

The scarab beetles themselves are a symbol of renewal and eternity, making these earrings not only a unique fashion statement but also a meaningful piece of history. Their vibrant green color brings to mind the arrival of spring and new life, adding a touch of natural beauty to any outfit.

These earrings are designed with a front-to-back closing mechanism so they are very comfortable and secure daily.

The antique earrings box on the photos is for display only, the earrings will be sent in a new velvet jewelry box.
