Victorian era 18K gold rose cut diamond twisted snake ring

€0

The fact that the snake has wriggled its way into so many antique jewelry collectors is testament to our enduring fascination with this slippery creature. The snake has been a popular motif in jewelry since ancient Greek and Roman times. For the Celts, the snake represented secret knowledge while, for the Romans, it was seen as a guardian spirit and symbol of eternal life.

For sale a beautiful 19th century ring featuring a lively twisted snake. The body of the snake is made of 13 rose cut diamonds with a red stone on his head. The snake measures 25mm in height and 17mm in width which offers a generous coverage when it is worn on your finger. The diamonds on the ring have the open back setting: they are mounted first on silver and then on 18K yellow gold. The ring is stamped with the French owl hallmark for 18K gold on the shank.

The ring is resizable at buyer’s cost, please contact us before passing your order.
