Stunning Augis « more than yesterday, less than tomorrow » 18k gold Diamond & Ruby ring

For sale a very beautiful French origin Augis ring in solid 18K gold. The ring is singed with A. Augis and hallmarked with the French eagle’s head for 18K gold. It is wrote in French: «+ qu’hier – que demain »: I love you more than I did yesterday and less than I will tomorrow.

The “More” sign is decorated with a diamond while the “less” sign with ruby calibré.

The head of the ring is elegantly crowned by gold filigree while the extra sparkling added by the diamond and ruby give a ring a very joyful look.

Behind the story: the French saying comes from the verse of the poem wrote by Mrs Rosemonde Gerard to her lover and husband: Edmond Rostand, the famous French writer of Cyrano de Bergerac, a dramatic love play.

Alphonse Augis, a famous French jeweler’s from Lyon, made a love medallion with this verse written on it. It has become one of the most collectible pieces of jewelry and welcomed by the collectors from all over the world. The first Augis love token/medal appears in 1907.
