Always faster and stronger, this magnificent French Art Nouveau 18k gold diamond chimera chain clip pendant empowered us the first time we saw it!

This is a truly unique “one-of-a-kind” piece with great attention to the details. The chimera holds a rose cut diamond in his mouth, as he is the legendary treasure guardian. The diamond has an estimated weight of 0.1 carat and it sparkles day and night. We also love his lively wings decorated equally with the rose cut diamonds, which add brightness and create the coveted visual effect.

The clip pendant system provides a versatile way to wear the chimera as it can be clipped on a ribbon or on a gold chain, and on where you need/want depending on the length of your chain or the look you want to create. We have tried some different styles which you can see from the pictures. It is a rare piece to add into your antique jewelry collection!

Toward the close of the 19th century French jewelers created a golden bestiary of fantastic creatures and mythical animals. Chimera is probably one of those most mysterious creatures we can have in the antique jewelry: The Khimaira (Chimera) was a fire-breathing creature with the body & head of a lion and a serpent for a tail.

No hallmark is found so the clip pendant is acid tested for 18K gold.
