Rare touching antique 18K gold child praying medal

For sale a beautiful and rare gold medal made of 18K yellow gold made in the 1920s, featuring a young child praying to the cross. On the top of the medal, it is engraved with “notre père qui êtes aux cieux”, which means “Our Father who art in Heaven” in French. On the bottom of the medal, it is engraved with “Pater Noster”, also called “Lord’s prayer”.

Not only the medal has a symbolic design which evokes faith but it is also exquisitely made with a great attention to details. We can see the folds on his/her dress, flowers climbing on the trees and there is even a little cat playing next to the child. The pendant is crafted with relief, making the scene extremely lively. The back of the medal is not engraved so it can be personalized by its future care taker.
