Lovely Victorian era silver magpie bird photo locket pendant

€0

The magpie is a small, intelligent, and chatty bird that is usually black and white in color. Very often, they are attracted to shiny objects and are known for collecting all kinds of items for their nests.

For sale a very lovely and rare antique silver locket dated back to the late 19th century, featuring an astonishing 3D crafted magpie, looking into the distance. The locket shows refined silver filigree works on both its front and back sides. The locket opens and closes well with a glass window inside to split the compartment, which allows you to insert two photos (or other treasured souvenirs). We love the detailed work on the magpie, such as his chubby body, beautiful wings and sharp eyes!

Magpies are well known in Asia, where they naturally became a popular art motif. They are considered a messenger of good luck and are known as “birds of joy." For instance, if you see a magpie or if a magpie builds a nest near your home, that may be an indication and positive omen of incoming success and good news. In Europe, magpies are symbolic of intelligence and wit because these birds show an extraordinarily high IQ!

The long guard chain on the photo is also available and listed in the shop.
