Edwardian Amethyst Diamond 18K gold platinum ring

€0

For sale a beautiful 18K yellow gold and platinum amethyst diamond ring, dated back to the early 20th century, the Edwardian / Belle Epoque era.

The ring features an oval shape amethyst in the center, with a saturated and strong purple color. The amethyst weights circa 2ct. A dazzling circle of rose cut diamonds surround the central stone, adding lots of sparkling and contrast in color. The total weight of the diamonds is estimated at circa 0,57ct. We love the presence of the ring when it is worn, the princess look it creates and beautiful combination of colors and of materials all presented in this single piece of jewelry.

Early Greek legends, and its wine-purple color, associated amethyst with Bacchus, the god of wine. Other legends led to beliefs that amethyst gems kept their wearers clear-headed and quick-witted in battle and in their business affairs. It’s no wonder that fine amethyst adorns the fingers of bishops and the coronation regalia of British royalty.
