Early 20th century large 18K gold opal diamond ring

€0

Boring is definitely not a word that you can apply to opal jewelry. In 75 AD, the Roman scholar Pliny observed, “Some opali carry such a play within them that they equal the deepest and richest colors of painters. Others...simulate the flaming fire of burning sulphur...and even the bright blaze of burning oil.”

For sale a magnificent 18K gold opal diamond ring, capturing perfectly the inexpressible beauty of opal. In the center is a large opal cabochon which measures 15mm in length and 10mm in width. It shows a strong play-of-fire with mainly greenish and blueish spectral hues. The opal is surrounded by a circle of rose cut diamonds, adding dazzling and sparkles to the ring. The mounting is made in 18K white gold and the ring is stamped with the French owl hallmark for 18K gold on the shank. The jewelry is dated back to the early 20th century.

This beautiful opal ring glows with an inner fire saturated as a rainbow, we love its large size, the dreamy appearance and the versatile look it can easily create with other pieces of jewelry in your collection.
