Antique 18K gold Etruscan Revival amphora drop earrings

€0

Gold and bold, these Victorian era Etruscan revival style earrings act as timeless investment staples for collectors, and also make elegant antique jewelry statements as we enter the new year.

The earring features one dropping amphora linked by three fine gold chains to an acorn on the top, on each side. This type of jewelry is the reflect of the revived interest of the jewellers in the Greek and Etruscan classicism during the middle of the 19th century. The archaeological revival supplied endless sources of inspiration in the form of amphora, inverted drops, Greek keys and many others.

The earrings drop gracefully, also in respond to the hairstyles that required hair to be brushed to the back of the head and the low décolletages of ball dresses throughout the 1860s and 1870s. Impressive in size, they are actually light to wear and fluid in movement. We also appreciate their rounded sensual curves which make them versatile.

The earrings have the French Rhinoceros head hallmark for 18K gold.
