For sale a breathtaking early 19th-century, Rococo-styled ring featuring a sweet, hand-painted enamelled cherub / cupid miniature at its center: the most commonly depicted character in art and jewellery associated with love is Cupid. 

The cherub / cupid, adorned with a red scarf partially covering his body, holds a bouquet of pinkish red roses. According to the legend, Venus was injured by the thorns of a white rose which turned red with her blood, so the red rose became linked with the pains of love; Even today, the rose is one of the most recognizable love symbols. Cupids or cherubs, playing with roses represents love profoundly. 

Surrounding the angel is a crown-like frame adorned with seed pearls, adding an extra layer of delicacy and sophistication. The back of the ring is closed. The ring is stamped with the French eagle’s head hallmark for 18K gold.
