French 1940s 18k yellow gold diamond ruby tank ring

€1,200

Only 1 piece in stock!

For sale a typical French tank ring from the 1940s, marked by its massive use of 18K yellow gold and architectural structure. The ring showcases a high wave-shaped dome head, combined with a line of 4 rose cut diamonds mounted in 18K white gold. Beside to the diamonds 3 purplish red color rubies which are probably synthetic like many rubies used in the jewelry of this type. The ring is stamped with the French eagle’s head hallmark for 18K gold with a maker’s mark on the shank.

Colorful, strong and expressive, this bold statement piece is sure here to get you noticed.

For the second time in the century, the outbreak of war changed again the style of the jewelry making in the 1940s. Bold, massive jewels were made to suit the outlook of the women during the war: masculine, well-tailored suits of military inspirations since women took up the jobs left vacant by men, whether in industry, in commerce or in offices. This ring is also a historical piece as a prove of the increasing women’s power during and after the SWW.

The ring is resizable at buyer’s cost, please contact us for this before you pass your order.
