For sale a fabulous & very rare 18k statement ring featuring a beautiful blue pâte de verre in the center, surrounded by sparkling rose cut diamonds. The sublime sky blue color is perfectly captured in this fabulous ring. We also adore the shoulder of the ring, which has a very elegant floral design, adding extra delicate details and presence into the design. The ring is mounted in 18k gold and it is dated back to the late 18th century/early 19th century.

Paté de verre refers to a special technique insisting of pouring the ground glass into a mold, with colored pigments and then fuse into the desired shape. It was first applied by ancient Greeks and the art revived in the 19th century. This technique is very closely related to enameling.
