Antique 18K gold emerald diamond pendant brooch
People have admired emerald’s green for thousands of years. There are other green gems, but emerald is the one that’s always associated with the lushest landscapes and the richest greens.
For sale a magnificent pendant brooch, featuring a bouquet like motif which highlights this legendary precious green gemstone. The biggest emerald in the center measures 6.5mm* 5.5mm. It is cushion cut and bezel set in yellow gold. The stone has an estimated weight of approximately 0.7cts. Its vivid green color and strong saturation recall us of the spring which is not very far anymore.
The body of the pendant is entirely covered by open-back, rose cut diamonds. Their icy appearance contrasts beautifully with the emeralds. The pendant brooch is mounted in silver and backed in 18K yellow gold. The bale as well as the pin of the brooch at the back are also made in 18K yellow gold. The jewelry is dated back to the 19th century, the Victorian era.

In overall good vintage condition; Traces of use and oxidation on the metal. Slight scratches on the stones.
French owl hallmark for 18K gold on the pin at the back.
