Victorian era 18K gold blood stone dog fob pendant
Step back in time with this exquisite Victorian-era, double sided fob pendant, featuring two gracefully rendered greyhounds in silver, this piece captures the poise and nobility of one of history’s most admired dog breeds. The greyhounds, known for their loyalty and elegance, stand proudly as guardians of a coat of arms liked motif fashioned in 18K yellow gold. Each dog wears an 18K gold collar, further enhancing their regal presence and hinting at their connection to aristocratic traditions. The pendant is double-sided so you can wear on either side of it.
At its base lies a bloodstone seal, unengraved and awaiting its next caretaker’s personal touch – a blank canvas for a family crest, monogram, or symbol of choice. The bale of the pendant is also crafted in 18K yellow gold.
Greyhounds, celebrated for their grace and speed, hold a revered place in history and mythology. They are the only dog breed mentioned by name in the Bible, described in Proverbs 30:29-31 as one of three things “which are comely in going.” Their association with royalty is legendary – even Prince Albert had a beloved black and white greyhound, Eos, immortalized in court portraits of the time.
The pendant is stamped with the French eagle’s head hallmark for 18K gold.
The chain on the photo is for display only.
