Antique 18K gold LFG certified natural pearl diamond bow brooch
Elegant, beautiful and feminine, the bow is a fine jewelry motif that never seems to go out of style. The bow jewelry, also a traditional symbol of love and romance, is also a sentimental gift to offer or to receive.
But this is not the only reason why we love this magnificent diamond bow brooch : this exceptional piece is made of two natural pearls, certified by LFG. (French gemological laboratory). Its certificate proves that the larger baroque pearl on the bottom, is a natural fresh water pearl in good luster; while the smaller round shaped pearl in the center of the bow is a natural salt water pearl in very good luster. The larger pearl is attached to the brooch by its original hoop system on the back - the pearl can be detached from the brooch to be worn as a pendant and the bow can be used to hold another piece such as a pocket watch. People have coveted natural pearls as symbols of wealth and status for thousands of years. A natural pearl forms in a pearl-bearing mollusk with no human intervention or assistance. Pearl culturing, plastic buttons, and oil drilling all make natural pearls extremely rare and precious. Today, 95% of the pearls are cultured, so we are very lucky to find this beautiful antique jewelry made of natural pearls.
The twisted bow of the brooch is made of 33 rose cut diamonds. There are 3 other rose cut diamonds on the baroque pearl. The jewelry is mounted in 18k yellow gold and is hallmarked with the French eagle’s head on the pin. The brooch is dated back to the 19th century, the Victorian era and it can also be worn as a pendant by passing through a chain.
Its LFG certificate will be delivered together with the jewelry to its new wearer.

In overall very good antique condition with slight traces of use.
Natural growing marks, slight blemishes on the bottom of the larger baroque pearl.
Several hallmarks including the French eagle’s head hallmark for 18K gold on the catch of the pin.
