Antique turquoise natural pearl butterfly 18K gold brooch
Let’s embrace the darling color combination of the blue turquoise and the white pearls from this lovely Victorian era butterfly brooch.
The inner side of the wings of the butterfly are made of 4 oval blue turquoise cabochons: the two larger ones on the top are movable. It seems that the butterfly flies when you dance. The turquoises show the characteristic opaque blue color and a waxy surface. The outer frame of the wings is decorated with gentle grayish white natural seed pearls. They have a rare harmony in size and in color. The brooch is mounted first in silver and then in 18K yellow gold.
Throughout the history, this beautifully winged creature is the symbol of transformation, rebirth and resurrection. Among the ancients, it is an emblem of the soul and of unconscious attraction towards light. We believe that the symbolism behind the butterfly makes the brooch a very special gift to offer or to receive.
